I got the okay from sylvie for this, so I'm posting stuff about it. This is also OPTIONAL, I repeat: Optional. If this is to ever be used, all players have to want to use this, and I mean ALL of them.
First off, you know those pen and paper rpg's, right? this is going to be implemented by the players choice. This helps with the worry that someone might godmod/powerplay by accident (I know I'm afraid of doing such a thing) So this can help all of the peeps who want to make sure that they themselves don't want to.
How this will work is what I will tell you: Everyone has HP, MP (for gifts), and PP (for skills). There will also be other stats (they will be listed below). How you Implement these to your character will affect how they fight, if their attacks hit, and if your character can run away from a fight. Gifts will only be affected by how often, and how much you can cast them, this goes for skills as well.
The following stats shown are taken from Plott's blank reference sheet (which you should probably fill out)
Stamina- This affects how much HP you have
Tactics- This affects how much MP you have and how much magical damage gift attacks do
Will- This affects how much PP you have
Accuracy- This affects how often your attacks will hit
Power- This affects how strong physical attacks are
Endurance- This affects how much physical damage you can take
Intelligence- This affects how much magical damage you can take
Speed- This affects how often you attack, if you can evade an attack, and how fast you can run (if you want to run from a battle)
Now, For base stats: Say I wanted to be a mage type character. I would probably use this layout:
Stamina: 3
Tactics: 9
Will: 4
Accuracy: 2
Power: 1
Endurance: 1
Intelligence: 8
Speed: 2
Each player character will have base stats totaling to 30 points, and the player may distribute them how they like while at least putting one point in each stat.
Stat points for HP, MP, and pp will convert on a 1:5 ratio. That means, since I have 3 Stamina, I will have 15 HP. This will affect the other two of the first three stats as follows: 5 Tactics = 25 MP, 3 Will = 15 PP.
In concerns of the other stats, if you want your attack to hit, it has to be at least 1 more point than the total of your opponents evasion stat total.
How much damage you take and/or give is affected by Tactics, Power, Endurance, and Intelligence. For example: If your enemy has 30 HP, and an endurance stat of 50, and you have a power stat of 55, you will do 5 damage to your enemy. This goes the same the other way around.
With the speed stat, basically, if your enemy has at LEAST 5 more speed than you, they will attack faster than you, they can evade some of your attacks (but not all, otherwise it would be unfair), and have a better chance of running away from the fight if they want.
The next thing I will talk about is level ups. Yes, Level ups. Everyone starts at level 1, and ends at level 200 (what a high level cap o.o). Each level is gained by gathering EXP. To gain EXP, your character will either train, or fight others. For each fight and training session your character will gain 10 EXP (unless of course, your character looses the fight, they won't loose EXP, they just won't gain any). This means that after 10 battles or training sessions, your character may level up, gaining 2 stat points to put wherever you please.
Now, for any clarification and additional information needed:
1. This is OPTIONAL, and ALL players in a battle must want to use this for it to be in effect in said battle.
2. The 1:5 ratio ONLY affects HP, MP, and PP.
3. The reference sheet Plott made can be found HERE
4. How much damage one does is found out with simple math (mainly subtraction).
5. HP, MP, and PP can be replenished by the following means: eating, sleeping, and medical attention of any form.
6. Base stats can be formed however the player wants with AT LEAST ONE point in each stat.
7. This will not be implemented until the refresh
8. If you would like, I am willing to keep a record of everyone's stats and such... I seem to like organizing things.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
