Bounties
When you join the thief side of the RP, you will eventually get a bounty. If you don't already know, bounties keep track of how
much money you're worth if someone turns you in. The people who turn you in get the amount of your bounty as a reward. If a
soldier finds you, they can put you directly in jail, unless you pay your own bounty, then you're free. (That is under normal
conditions. If you're a really bad person who's done a lot of bad things, paying off your bounty won't work. Ex: You've killed lot's
and lot's of people)
There are three ways to get out of jail:
1) Bail yourself out or have a friend do it. The cost is 1,000 layos under normal conditions.
2) If you were taken in by a soldier and not someone else and you haven't paid off your own bounty yet, you can pay it off to get
out of jail.
3) Wait two days in RP under normal conditions. (That is equal to 1 in real life day.)
(You could also escape jail somehow if you're lucky, but jail cells are skill and gift proof so you'd need outside help and trickery,
there's probably a 1/10 chance breaking out will work)
So how do you know how big your bounty is? Read the list below. Each crime will add up to your bounty and usually has the same
cost under normal conditions:
•Killing- 1,000
•Vandalism- 100 (unless you destroy an entire house, then the cost would be a lot higher)
•Pick-pocketing- the amount of money you pick-pocketed (if you pick-pocketed an item, see 'Stealing' below)
•Stealing- if you steal money, the cost is the amount you stole, but if you steal items, the cost is exactly how much you would pay
for said item, so check out the threads about prices in the help board, and if the item you stole isn't in there, ask Silvertide(me) or a
staff member for the assumed cost of that item (stealing goes for anything you obtain without paying for it and when it isn't for free)
•Invading private property/Breaking in- 200 (ex: a house, a store at night)
•Escaping jail- 500
•Violence- 100 (ex: attacking someone, not self-defense and not when both you and the opponent fight willingly)
Avoiding taxes- 100 leyos per in real life week
Reputations
When you join the side of the organization you will eventually get a reputation. You get a reputation when you do good deeds and
help fight crime. You can also get paid for doing both things, though if you help someone out for free it increases your reputation.
To get a better reputation go to the town and talk to NPCs. Maybe you'll see someone who needs help carrying something, or
maybe a store clerk needs you to man the shop for a bit. If you see someone in danger, and you rescue them, that greatly increases
your reputation. The same goes for if you turn in a criminal/thief. You will not only get the reward from turning them in, but your
reputation will increase a lot.
The better of a reputation you get, the more freedom you'll have. When you have a good reputation you can buy
a nice house with that well-earned money you have instead of living in the slums. If you want, you can buy a better house or even
have one built if you have enough money the better your reputation becomes. You will also get more privileges and respect.
Each good deed will give you a reputation point, or a rep pt and almost always, money. Like the crimes above, the money and
rep pts usually are at a set amount for each good deed under normal conditions, but there are sometimes irregularities. Read the
list below:
•Chores- (ex: helping clean up the inn, fetching water, simple things like that) Layos: 30 Rep pts: 10
•Rescues- Layos: 60 Rep pts: 20
•Jobs- (ex: helping man a store, helping to fish for a day) Layos: 50 Rep pts: 30
•Turning in a criminal/thief- the amount of their bounty Rep pts: 100 (though it could be more if the thief is a really bad one)
•Helping someone out- (this is what you do for free) Rep pts: 50
There is also a simple ranking system based on your bounty or rep pts. It can be simplified, if you have a high bounty, you are a more recognized thief, and if you have a high reputation, you are a more respected citizen, but if you want to keep track of your character, use the ranking system below. You can then put your Rank and Grade in your in game bio if you want:
-Rank 50- 1,500 bounty (grade A thief)
-Rank 40- 1,250 bounty (Grade B thief)
-Rank 30- 1,000 bounty (Grade C thief)
-Rank 20- 750 bounty (Grade D thief)
-Rank 10- 500 bounty (Grade E thief)
(I think you get the pattern here. Every fifty layos added to your bounty your rank is lowered. Every five ranks lower your grade
of a thief increases. The higher grade you are, the more people will recognize you, and the more wanted posters you'll have.)
-Rank 5- 250 bounty (you're a Grade F thief)
-Rank 4- 200 bounty
-Rank 3- 150 bounty
-Rank 2- 100 bounty
-Rank 1- 50 bounty
Poor- no bounty no rep pts
Rank 1- 50 rep pts
Rank 2- 100 rep pts
Rank 3- 150 rep pts
Rank 4- 200 rep pts
Rank 5- 250 rep pts (you can book a room in the inn, Rank F Citizen)
(I think you kinda get the pattern by now, every fifty points you gain a rank. Every five ranks you get more privileges and respect,
and you can get a better place to live. If you aren't rank 5 but you have the money you can still book a room in the inn, or buy
a normal house, but if your reputation isn't high enough, house retailers won't sell you a good house, they're mean, and this also
had a ranking system like the thieves have, the higher grade you have is equal to your better reputation)
Rank 10- 500 rep pts (you can buy a normal house, Rank E Citizen)
Rank 20- 750 rep pts (you can buy a good house, Rank D Citizen)
Rank 30- 1,000 rep pts (you can buy a great house, Rank C Citizen)
Rank 40- 1,250 rep pts (you can buy an amazing house, Rank B Citizen)
Rank 50- 1,500 rep pts (you can buy the best house, Rank A Citizen)
(I may fix the system if it becomes too easy or too hard to use. When I say too easy I mean something like someone becoming a
rank A thief in one day.)
